Hi there, my name is Colton Barnes and I am a registered dietitian at Sensibly Sprouted. I am passionate about nutrition and love helping people to understand its complexities without feeling overwhelmed or frustrated. I believe that food is a beautiful part of life and should be enjoyed!
Everybody needs to eat, and you do too: so let’s learn and take control together! I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your nutrition goals in a practical and enjoyable way.
Colton prides himself in creating personalized nutrition plans that are practical, sustainable, and focused on whole foods. Proper micronutrition (vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients) is a particular area of interest for him. He also has expertise in performance and sports nutrition and enjoys working with clients to help them achieve their athletic goals through proper nutrition.
Colton graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Kent State University, followed by a Master of Science in Nutrition. I became a dietitian in 2022 where I began working in skilled nursing facilities before joining Sensibly Sprouted.
Outside of work Colton enjoys playing and composing music (he has a Bachelor of Music Composition from Capital University), competing in Strongman competitions, hiking, and exploring his new home state. He’s a tea enthusiast and also a big stickler when it comes to his coffee!
