I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! When it comes to these warmer months, the topic of water almost always comes up- whether we are planning beach days, pool parties, or being reminded we need to drink more because of the heat. This week I wanted to take a different spin on summer fun and playing in the water. I wanted to discuss a topic I am passionate about… the health of our oceans.
Being raised in Florida I was fortunate enough for beach days to be a weekly occurrence. Now in Washington State, lake days are a staple to beat the summer heat. But in order to be able to enjoy the water this season, we need to do our part and make sure that our oceans, rivers, and lakes stay clean. And, although I am environmentally conscious I am by no means an expert on the topic of our oceans.
For this Podcast episode my co-host and I brought in someone who is getting his hands dirty by cleaning up the mangroves in his hometown. And knows all of the facts.
For those that love splashing around and want to keep their waters clean, let’s all do our part.
